The U.S. industrial conglomerate said in a statement it had won an order from Airbus for its HGT1500 power unit, a high-power density gas turbine power unit that provides power to support cabin air conditioning and in-flight emergency power.
The units, which provide the equivalent of 1,500 horse power in the form of pressurized air and electrical power, will be used by the Airbus A350, a new wide-bodied aircraft billed as Europe’s rival to Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner.
