American Airlines raised round-trip domestic air fares by $10 in a bid to partially compensate for higher fuel costs, a spokesman said Wednesday.

US Airways Group Inc. said it had matched the increase, while UAL Corp.’s United Airlines and Northwest Airlines Corp. said they were studying the move.
