The driver of a car that was involved in an accident last November in which three people died, was convicted Friday of Driving Under the Influence.
21 year-old Daniel Sieg, was charged with DUI after the wreck, but faced no other charges. The Commonwealth's Attorney determined that the accident was caused by the driver of the other car.
In that accident, 18-year old Alonzo Jarmon, his 16-year old brother Michael, and 10-year-old Shaqwane Williams died when their car hit a tree on Great Neck Road. The investigation revealed that Alonzo was driving at around 85 MPH, and changed lanes directly in front of Sieg's car, which then clipped his car, causing the crash.
At the accident scene, Sieg was determined to be driving while drunk.
In Friday's hearing. the judge found Sieg guilty of DUI and sentenced him to 365 days in jail, with all but 30 days suspended. His attorney said he will appeal.
