Lightning strikes house in Barnesville

A house in Barnesville, Minnesota was hit by lightning during Friday night's severe storms.

Shortly before 9:30 Friday night, as a band of thunderstorms moved through Clay County, Minnesota, five people inside a house in Barnesville were shocked when the house was struck by lightning.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the lightning did not cause a fire at the home, although the fire department did respond. There were no serious injuries among those inside.

Also in Clay County, a power line was blown into a house south of Hawley by the storm's high winds. Authorities say there was no significant damage to the home.
