President Reagan Rememebred in Hometown

The only President born in Illinois now has a new statue along the river in his boyhood hometown.

A bronze statue of Ronald Reagan was unveiled Friday in Dixon. The town is hosting its annual Reagan Trail Days this weekend in honor of the 40th President.

After being born in Tampico, Reagan moved with his family to Dixon in 1920 where he was a lifeguard and graduated high school before going to Eureka College.

The statue shows a young Reagan riding a horse and sits along the Rock River. Ronald Reagan died in 2004 at the age of 93.

President Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Sinking Spring Farm, Kentucky, while President Ulysses S. Grant was born in Point Pleasant, Ohio, and Mr. Brack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
