Clinton to campaign in race for Murtha's seat

Former President Bill Clinton will campaign for the Democratic candidate seeking to fend off a Republican challenge in a special election for the seat held for decades by the late Rep. John Murtha.

Former President Bill Clinton will campaign for the Democratic candidate seeking to fend off a Republican challenge in a special election for the seat held for decades by the late Rep. John Murtha.

Democrat Mark Critz's campaign announced Tuesday that Clinton will appear Sunday with Critz at a get out-the-vote rally in Johnstown.

Clinton's visit will come two days before the May 18 election to fill the remainder of Murtha's term. Murtha died in February of complications from gallbladder surgery.

Critz was Murtha's top district aide. He's being opposed by businessman Tim Burns, who Republicans hope can win and give them momentum heading into this fall's congressional midterm election.

Vice President Joe Biden has also appeared at a fundraiser for Critz.
