16-Year-Old's Birthday Party Crashed by 1,500

While planning her 16th birthday party, a German girl posted a party invite on Facebook. Common enough, except she accidentally made the event open to the public. After thousands RSVP'ed, the girl cancelled the party, but 1,500 people showed up at her house anyway.

While planning her 16th birthday party, a German girl posted a party invite on Facebook. Common enough, except she accidentally made the event open to the public. After thousands RSVP'ed, the girl cancelled the party, but 1,500 people showed up at her house anyway.

The teen, identified as "Thessa", realized her mistake of when 15,000 people responded that they'll be attending her small, private birthday party. Even after she cancelled the event, 1,500 people from the Hamburg, Germany, area said that they would be coming to her house.

Thessa and her family then contacted police officials, who set up a blockade around her house to keep strangers out. When about 1,500 people showed up, with some attendees even carrying banners with Thessa's name, 100 police officers were stationed to monitor the crowd.

The people sang songs and chanted Thessa's name, but she and her family stayed away. With the birthday girl nowhere to be seen, some party-goers began to get rowdy; some threw stones. Six people were arrested, and a few minor injuries were reported.
