FBI seeks public's help in finding 'Bad Hair Bandit'

The FBI is asking for the public’s help in locating a serial bank robber they have dubbed the “Bad Hair Bandit.”

The woman is wanted for 16 bank robberies and attempted bank robberies in Washington State since December of 2010.

Typically, the woman enters the bank and passes a note to a teller, demanding cash. She states that she is armed. She appears to flee by car, possibly a newer silver or gold sedan similar to a Honda Accord.

The robber is described as a white female in her 30s, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, with a medium to heavy build. She tends to wear a zippered hoodie, glasses, a baseball cap and some type of wig.

Tacoma/Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of and charges filed against the Bad Hair Bandit. Wells Fargo Bank will contribute up to $5000 to the Crime Stoppers reward for this case.

Anyone with information regarding these subjects is asked to call 1-800-222-TIPS, the 24/7 anonymous tips line of the Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.
