Zach Braff on Website Hack: 'I'm Still Straight'

Actor Zach Braff is not gay, despite a fake "coming out" message posted by the hackers who hijacked his website.

Actor Zach Braff is not gay, despite a fake "coming out" message posted by the hackers who hijacked his website.

Yesterday (July 20), the "Scrubs" and "Garden State" star wrote on Facebook that his website had been hacked and defaced with a letter announcing that he is gay, the security firm Sophos reported.

"I am excited and proud to announce that I am an open member of the homosexual community," the bogus coming out letter reads. "This is not news to those closest to me, and I honor that they have kept it a secret for such a long time."

The letter continued, "This doesn't change anything. I am still Zach Braff, and I am the same man I've always been, gay or not."

Braff's compromised website had not been updated since 2006, Sophos said.

The hack puts Braff in company with celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Lil Wayne and Amy Winehouse, all of whom have fallen victim to online attacks on their websites.

Ever the comedian, Braff, who is dating model Taylor Bagley, brushed off the hack in hilarious fashion and assured his fans that he is not gay — not that there's anything wrong with that.

'"My old website got hacked," Braff told his fans on Facebook. "Someone issued a 'coming out' statement on my behalf. I'm still straight and in love with my girlfriend. But not too straight; I still love musicals, brunch and Doogie Howser."
