Police in New Jersey were afraid of what Victor Salazar might have eaten. A hospital X-ray showed bits of bone in his body. He had gone to a hospital with back pain — and forgetting that he had made soup from a whole chicken, told doctors he hadn’t eaten any bones.

The X-ray made homicide investigators suspicious that he may have eaten human remains, and they went to his house. They picked up some chicken from his kitchen, X-rayed the feet and found a match to the bones he had eaten.
