Boeing gives $30,000 to USO Puget Sound Area

The Beoing company gave $30,000 to the USO Puget Sound to  help lift the spirits of military personnel and their families throughout the Pacific Northwest.

USO Puget Sound Area announced a $30,000 annual donation in April from The Boeing Company that will help the USO lift the spirits of military personnel and their families throughout the Pacific Northwest. Boeing is a longtime supporter of USO and our nation's military service members.

"Boeing continues to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to USOPSA and our local military families, and we thank them for their generosity and support," said Don Leingang, USO Puget Sound Executive Director.

Boeing's annual contribution includes a $15,000 sponsorship of USOPSA's "Red, White & Blue Golf Classic" on May 22 at The Golf Club at Newcastle, and a $15,000 sponsorship of USOPSA's Five-Star Gala on September 22 at The Westin in Bellevue, Wash.

The funds will help the USO continue to provide free morale, welfare and recreation services to more than 537,000 active-duty military, dependents, reservists and veterans annually. The USO operates centers at Sea-Tac Airport and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and serves the military throughout the Pacific Northwest via the USO's Mobile Canteen.

"The men and women of Boeing bring the same shared passion and care to supporting those who serve as they do to providing the products and systems that make our forces safer and stronger," said Pamela Valdez, a board member. "We are honored to stand with the USO in recognition of the dedication, service and sacrifice of our military heroes and their families."
