When the Supreme Court struck down part of the Voting Rights Act this month, they left in place the section of the law that requires some states and parts of states to get pre-clearance from the Justice Department before implementing new voting laws. What formula will be used to determine what places still need regulation? On Saturday’s Melissa Harris-Perry, the panel discussed what some approaches might look like, and what areas of the United States might need more oversight after recent elections.
