Spring Township Disbands its Police Department

 District Attorney Mike Piecuch   has announced that the Spring Township Supervisors voted unanimously yesterday to disband its police department.  Departmental operations had been suspended by the supervisors effective May 28th pending an organizational review.The Supervisors also voted to explore other options to enhance public safety through community policing.  As it does for any municipality without its own police, the Pennsylvania State Police is providing primary law enforcement services for Spring Township.DA Piecuch said, "I compliment the supervisors for taking a strategic approach to public safety in Spring Township.  My office will offer any support and assistance they need."(From District Attorney: Mike Piecuch)
