In the wake of Thursday's attempted terror attack in London, MSNBC's Randy Meier talked with terrorism analyst Charles Shoebridge from London on Friday about the investigation.
Shoebridge said based on what is known, he believes that the attacks on July 7 and on Thursday are linked.
"As we go further up the pyramid of command, it's quite likely the coordination and control of these two operations has come from the same direction," he said. "We don't know for certain but it also goes back to that the explosives were made by the same person, they come from the same batch of explosives. That would be entirely consistent with what we saw yesterday where its believed detonators exploded. The main charge of these bombs did not. After all this is homemade explosive. Had it been made two weeks ago from the same batch of those bombs two weeks ago that had been successful. It's quite likely that this explosive would have degraded over time with the effect that we saw yesterday."

Shoebridge said the evidence collected from the suspect that was shot by police on Friday morning while attempting to enter a London Underground stop, and the evidence left behind by the failed bombings on Thursday will be the key to figuring out how the attacks may be related and who is ultimately be responsible.
"After all, it's only really from intelligence that we're going to get those people higher up the chain who commanded and have these operations," he said.

Based on the quick movement of the investigation of the 7/7 attacks and what has happened so far in investigating Thursday's incidents, Shoebridge is confident those responsible will be brought to justice.
"We've got a situation where it's really intelligence being led by investigation," he said. "It's a fast moving investigation and from what we can see a highly competent one."
