One of two inmates who escaped from a Tennessee jail Monday morning was captured just hours after the breakout, but authorities were still on the hunt for the second runaway.

The two were being held in a minimum security section of the prison, and officials believe they got out by breaking a window and removing the screws holding a security barrier in place, the statement said.

Lafollette was found by detectives about a mile away from the prison, the sheriff's office said at about 9:30 a.m. He was brought back to the Hamilton County Jail and will be charged.

Adams, meanwhile, was still on the loose. The sheriff's office said he may have injured himself during the escape and could seek medical attention.

Adams was locked up for possession of a firearm, auto theft and burglary, while Lafollette had been charged with theft of property and criminal conspiracy.

Nonetheless, the sheriff's office said that Adams and Lafollette were not considered dangerous or a threat to the public.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's office said the escape marks the first at the Hamilton County Jail in more than 15 years.
