Getting a sense of the Oklahoma blues

Of course there are some Democrats in Oklahoma, but admittedly there were a few of us here who wondered about the district tonight's guest, State Rep. Joe Dorman, represents, so I happen to have a red/blue map of Oklahoma's current 54th Legislature handy for those who are curious:

Mr. Dorman represents the 65th District, which is the southern-most blue one just above the letters "Okla" on the map (bigger pdf version here). His is one of 29 Democratic districts versus 72 Republican districts in the state. This is actually the first time Oklahoma is using its new redistricting, which was passed for the 2012 elections. Even though the shape of the 65th District has changed quite a bit on the new map, the previous map had the same number of districts (101) with the previous legislature breaking down into 31 Democratic versus 70 Republican districts.
