Remember when some conservatives told the Mitt Romney campaign to "double-down" on his 47% comments? And he did?

And then Romney starting dropping "100%" into speeches and saying he just wants to empower people to get off the dole?

Well it seems voters aren't buying it, and moreover, they disagree with Romney that 47% of the electorate are victims, dependent on government.

Fifty-one percent believe Romney is wrong on that point and that most Americans work hard and sometimes need government help, according to a Bloomberg poll released Wednesday. Forty-one percent agreed with Romney.

A Washington Post-ABC News poll found 54% view the Republican candidate's secretly taped comments, which were later published by Mother Jones, "in an unfavorable light," and 32% viewed them favorably.

Independents held about a 2 to 1 negative view of the comments (57% to 27%), the Washington Post-ABC poll released Wednesday found.
