Jeb Bush Apologizes to Mom During GOP Debate

Carly Fiorina on Wednesday opened up about something she only rarely talks about on the campaign trail -- the death of her stepdaughter.

Jeb Bush had to issue an apology to his mom during Wednesday's Republican presidential debate.

"Forty years ago I smoked marijuana and I admit it. I'm sure that other people might have done it and may not want to say it in front of 25 million people. My mom's not happy that I just did," Bush said.

Bush's mother, of course, is former First Lady Barbara Bush.

The admission came after Rand Paul said there was a hypocrite on stage who did not get in trouble for smoking pot while poor and minority offenders went to jail.

Carly Fiorina also weighed in on the issue of marijuana legalization, talking about something she only rarely broaches on the campaign trail -- the death of her stepdaughter.

"My husband and I buried a child because of drug addiction,” Fiorina said.

She added that marijuana can be gateway drug that can lead to more serious drug problems.

“I know this sadly from personal experience,” she said.
