Former Rep. Jim Traficant, the colorful Ohio congressman who served seven years in prison on bribery and racketeering charges, has been seriously injured in a farm accident, according to WFMJ.

The television station reports that Traficant, 73, was trapped under “an older style tractor” that he was pulling into a barn at his daughter’s home. He is alive but in critical condition, his wife Tish said.

Traficant, known for his unconventional fashion sense and eccentric speeches, was ejected from the House in 2002 for an array of ethics complaints. He was released from prison in 2009 and ran unsuccessfully for his former congressional seat in 2010.
