For fans of satirical TV, there's no "Soup" for you after Friday night.

E! will air its final serving of "The Soup" at 10 p.m. ET after a 22-year run and its first-ever Emmy nomination last year. The network announced last month it was canning the series — known for giving viewers a biting taste of pop culture commentary — after more than 3,000 episodes.

The show debuted in 1991 in its original incarnation as "Talk Soup," launching the careers of original host Greg Kinnear, John Henson, Hal Sparks and Aisha Tyler. Current host Joel McHale took the reins in 2004 with the rebooted "The Soup."

The show has had the right ingredients for a long shelf life: Fans ate up segments that regularly mocked Oprah Winfrey, Miley Cyrus, home shopping channels, trashy reality TV, and various news anchors.

The show also had no problem lampooning the programming on its own network in a spot called "Let's Take Some E!" The Kardashian clan has been a favorite target.

Producers, meanwhile, have already promised a star-studded finale.

McHale shared a picture on Thursday of the celebrities involved in the taping of the last episode, including Larry King, Haley Joel Osment, James Van Der Beek and Eric Idle.

But while fans have been consuming the show all these years, not everyone's ready to say goodbye. An online petition to "Save the Soup" garnered more than 3,200 signatures as of Friday morning. As an alternative, the petition's creator is asking for other platforms or channels to give "The Soup" a new home.
