It’s a big night for Taylor Swift amid this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. And unfortunately her beau won’t be able to join her.
While Swift is slated to receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors at ceremony at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, her hubby Travis Kelce will be across the country in Miami, Florida.

Kelce, a tight-end for the Kansas City Chiefs, just wrapped up a game Sept. 27 against the Miami Dolphins in Florida. The Chiefs took the win 24-10. Among the highlights was Kelce’s 48-yard catch-and-run that opened the game.

For Swift, the VMAs, which will be hosted by Snoop Dogg, will not only be a memorable one because of the Artist Director Honors. She’s also up for several awards including video of the year, artist of the year and best album.
In July, Swift and Kelce tied the knot at New York’s Madison Square Garden in one of the most high-profile weddings of the year. Since, the pair have been openly gushing about their newlywed status.
Most recently during the Sept. 20 Kansas City Chiefs game against the Indianapolis Colts, Swift responded to Kelce’s first touchdown of the season by pointing at her engagement ring and wedding band and saying, “That’s my husband!”
