Officially, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter fully participated in practice with a wrist injury.
Unofficially, Carter has a hairline fracture in his wrist.
That’s the word from Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Per the report, the injury happened in Week 1. Carter has played the last two games with a soft case.
McLane adds that Carter’s playing time has decreased. Carter had 66 snaps (94 percent) in Week 1 against the Commanders. In Week 2 at Tennessee, he was on the field for 41 snaps (77 percent). On Monday night at the Bears, Carter took part in 51 snaps (71 percent).
Carter has appeared on all injury reports since Week 1, with the wrist issue disclosed. His participation has increased from limited to full.
Asked on Wednesday whether the injury has been an issue for Carter, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said, “There’s no way it can’t be, but to be honest with you, he’s done better than I thought he would with it.”
They’ll need him on Sunday against a Rams team that is surely desperate to avoid falling to 1-3.
