GoPro offers a wide range of rugged, lightweight cameras for everything from skiing to surfing — and now there's one more in the lineup. At $200, the Hero+ sits in between the entry-level Hero ($130) and the more recently announced Hero+ LCD ($300).

On the outside, it looks just like the cheaper model (including built-in waterproof housing), but on the inside it's more like the more expensive one. There's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth inside, which allows the user to control the camera from a smartphone or tablet, and an improved sensor that allows for 1080p at 60 frames per second. That's less versatile than the high-end models, which shoot even faster, but should be fine unless you need extreme slow motion.

The even more diminutive Hero4 Session had a price drop, from $400 to $300, which depending on your needs may be an even better choice — be sure to compare the specs and accessories before you pull the trigger.

Look for the Hero+ online and at the usual retailers starting Oct. 4.
