Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg: 'Connecting The World is Within Our Reach'

Mark Zuckerberg wants everyone to be able to get on the Internet -- and presumably Facebook. Connecting people in underdeveloped areas to the Internet is “one of the fundamental challenges of our generation,” the Facebook CEO wrote in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal published on Monday. “When people have access, they not only connect with their friends, families and communities, they also gain the opportunity to participate in the global economy,” the Zuck wrote. “The Internet is the foundation of this economy.” Facebook is a driving force behind Internet.org, which aims to bring Internet to the two-thirds of the world without access, and the social network and Google are engaged in what could be a multibillion-dollar tech race to make that happen.
