Fourteen years after the Sept. 11 terror attacks, people on Twitter are sharing their stories with the #WhereWereYou hashtag.

As families gathered at Ground Zero on Friday to hear the names of the nearly 3,000 people who died read aloud, Twitter users went online to share first-hand accounts of the attacks and memories of hearing the news for the first time on TV or the radio.

Several politicians also shared their stories, like former New York State Governor George Pataki and current U.S. House Speaker John Boehner.

The newly trending hashtag joins #NeverForget as a way for social media users to share their Sept. 11 experiences online. On Facebook, #NeverForget was also popular, used by everyone from politicians to the New York Police Department to Jane Goodall.
