The iPhone has proven itself to be an invaluable tool for travel. Mostly this applies to actual places, but sometimes, one could use a little help with virtual terrain as well. For players of "Skyrim" who need a little guidance, there's the just released Skyrim World Interactive Map.

It provides yet another reminder of a simple fact that most players know already: Skyrim is a huge place. The first time you fire up the app, you get a decent chunk of land, but downloading the entire map requires you to check yes, since the 150+ maps will increase the size of the app to 970mbs.

The initial download is free, but to absorb everything it offers will require in-app purchases. Highlights include 350 primary locations, 200 secondary locations, 1,000 points, even 160 interior maps. One can also track down certain items or individuals, including the locations of shines, skill books, even marriage prospects, for just a dollar a pop.

After a while, that bill may start adding up, but it may be a worthwhile investment for some nonetheless. At the moment, only iOS is supported and is only available in the United States.
